| May 7, 1999 was a special day in the Egan household. It marked the end of a three year journey for us. In April 1996 we first submitted our application to the adoption agency. In October 1997, we were blessed with our wonderful daughter Bailee. And on May 7, 1999 she became a U.S. Citizen! The last step in our long journey. Bailee loves to tell everyone that she is a citizen. The ceremony that we attended was held at the Music Hall of Boy's Town in Omaha, Nebraska. It was the largest citizenship ceremony ever held for adopted children...304 children became citizens. It was quite a memorable day for us all. |
